5 Browser Plugins Every Digital Nomad Needs

Best Browser Plugins for Marketers

Want to improve the scale up your work and impress clients? These 5 tools should be in every digital nomad’s arsenal from day one. Best of all, they’re all free!

There are thousands of plugins and software for internet marketers & online workers, but very few are what you’d consider essential for every digital nomad.

Depending on your area of expertise, you may find some plugins / apps unnecessary or unessential. If you’re a web designer, for example, it’s unlikely you’ll need a paid subscription service to Hootsuite for managing social media accounts, like I do.

With that being said, I’ve found that the following 5 Chrome plugins cross the boundaries of expertise and can be an invaluable asset for impressing potential new clients and bulletproofing your work.

1. Google URL Builder

Google’s Campaign URL Builder should be first on your list.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a budding social media marketer creating campaigns for clients or programmer, at some stage you’re going to have to track different sources of traffic to your website.

The Campaign Builder allows you to customise links for ad campaigns, allowing you to track the source of your traffic. By adding custom parameters to your e-mails, social media posts, and affiliates, you’ll be able to analyse and explain which mediums are worth investing time and effort in and produce the maximum ROI.

It’s also important to be able to explain to clients which sources are delivering results as well. The URL builder will allow you to display this seamlessly in the backend of Google Analytics.

2. Grammarly

Grammarly has been a godsend for me.

This nifty plugin analyses your grammar and highlights mistakes and provides suggestions for improving your sentences. It automatically works with nearly every piece of software I use online as well as all general web pages. You just install it, make sure it’s functioning and you’re good to go.

If you’re a copywriter (like me), this one is particularly invaluable. If you’re just trying to write coherent e-mails when pitching or conversing with clients, then it’s still an essential tool to have by your side.

3. Facebook Pixel Helper

I shouldn’t really reveal this one because it’s part of my potential client approach strategy. Now you’re going to be stealing all my money 😉

The Facebook Pixel Helper identifies whether somebody has the Facebook Pixel installed and functioning on their website. It gives you a clear insight into where about it’s located on their page and whether it’s firing correctly.

It looks like this.

It’s essential because Facebook is the cornerstone of all online advertising efforts these days, and whenever it’s missing it’s safe to assume that the website’s owner is missing potential retargeting opportunities.

I will often approach potential clients by telling them that I found no Facebook Pixel installed on their website and that they’re missing opportunities by not having it installed. You’d be surprised at how effective this actually is in getting their attention.

4. Facebook Newsfeed Eradicator

Are you the type of person who easily gets distracted by pictures of peoples food on Facebook? I think we’re all guilty of having scrolled needlessly for hours through this sort of tripe. In fact, it’d be scary if somebody studied just how many days over our lifetime were lost to this.

This browser extension has saved me god knows how many unproductive hours. It completely wipes your newsfeed and replaces it with a powerful quote like this:

The amount of times I’ve been on Business Manager and clicked back through to my newsfeed in the past was frightening. Discovering this done wonders for my productivity as it consciously reminded me to get back to work.

5. Google Tag Manager

This one takes the complexity out of coding and cumbersome HTML for marketers and designers. I’ll let Google explain this one themselves:
