As an independent traveller, I’d like to share with you my favourite travel resources I’ve used religiously over the years. I will earn a small affiliate commission if you go on to use these after clicking the links, so I appreciate your support if you do decide to follow my recommendations.
Agoda is hands-down the best option in Asia, for price and variety of options. I must have racked up over 100 bookings with them in my lifetime and the only two times I’ve had problems at a hotel, they’ve refunded me fully.
Outside of Asia, booking.com is my go-to hotel booking site. They have an enormous selection of hotels with excellent rates, and the ability to withhold payment until you actually arrive and check-in.
If you’re looking for a more authentic travel experience, then staying at a host’s place on Airbnb is your best bet. (Note: Click this link for £25 off your first travel!)
My go-to for both long-haul and internal flights. There are a lot of flight comparison websites, but I’ve consistently found Skyscanner to be the most consistent and cheapest of all.
All my travel videos on my Youtube channel are recorded using my Go Pro. For somebody who loves the outdoors and adventure as much as I do, this versatile camera has been the best investment I’ve ever made.
I’m a big fan of reading, and you should be, too. The days of lugging 20 paperbacks in your rucksack are over – buy a Kindle and keep all of your best books on one lightweight device.
I have never used another company for travel insurance because World Nomads are by far the best. They are an honest company that doesn’t hesitate to payout should something go wrong. Do NOT travel without Travel Insurance – trust me on this. World Nomads are excellent on price and their cover is comprehensive.
